ATTN: Customers and Prospective Clients

It is with sad hearts that we are announcing the official close to Velocity Marketer Hosting.

Due to the Global Economic Crisis our client base has dropped sharply and does not allow for the hiring of new support staff to continue offering the high level of service we have provided since inception. With that in mind we as a company will not offer a service that does not reflect our promise of rapid experienced support and client promotion.

No new clients will be taken:

Existing clients have been issued a notice that they will have until the end of February to find new hosting service to migrate their websites to prior to our closing of the c-panel system and access to accounts. Clients who have moved their service prior to the end dates of their current contract will be refunded the remainder of un-used service as per the site terms you agreed to at the beginning of your contract. Full details have been e-mailed to you at your account e-mail address.

Existing hosting clients in need of support related to their moving of websites and domains from our system may place a support ticket in your user back office..

Velocity Marketer and Velocity Marketer Hosting in conjunction with DG Innovations / Pyrium of Australia have been proud to serve you, and have valued every client. This was a tough call but a much needed move to save resources and consolidate our business.

It is with further sadness we announce the retirement or semi retirement of CEO and Hosting admin Dave Gilbert. His technical skills in design and SEO, had him in high demand among clients and made Velocity Marketer Hosting work.

Dave has reached a time in his life where 10 years of late nights and early mornings has demanded he now focus a majority of his time to family and living life. His grand children demand his presence and we wish him the absolute best in his at least scaled back workload.

Dave has been asked to remain a periodic author for My Viral Blog sharing his wealth of knowledge and has offered limited consulting to Dale and Myself. He may also be available for outsourced work on design projects in the future, but his services will not be a daily part of Velocity Marketer moving forward.

Dave has been friend and mentor to me for the better part of 5 years. a true friend in success and trials alike and his efforts have resulted in a strong business model that has survived where others have failed. I am proud to have had him as a business partner for so long.. I am even more proud of our friendship which knows no bounds, even the thousands of miles of land and water between Australia and my home in Yuma Arizona. Dave and his family will always be a part of our extended family and a door will always be open to his return.

About Dave Gilbert

For our clients being directly served by Dave Gilbert I must inform you that Dave who lives in Australia had a brief bout with the flu that knocked him out for a couple days only to find that when attempting to come back to work he had a equipment failure related to the modem from his ISP. Dave will be out until Monday October 26 2009 when Telstra expects his service to be brought back online with new equipment installed.

Sad to say Dave is sidelined until that time and while it is surely driving him nuts, it’s his first vacation in over 5 years.

Server side issues will be handled upon Dave’s return as he is our server admin, account billing and inquiry issues can be handled through our regular member support desk.

URL cloaking is it a good home business move?

 

To shrink or not to shrink, that is the question.

 

Every day we see hundreds of sites, e-books, and softwares that recommend using a redirect service like TinyURL.com to shrink ugly or long affiliate links claiming that they protect affiliate commissions and make the link look better. Think Track That Ad or many others and let’s take a look at how this works.

Pretty went out the window with the number after the domain name and it also lost search engine value as neither a redirect or a number instead of a name will result in indexing. I refuse to click a shortened link personally because of having been attacked with a nasty virus through just such a program.
